Microdosing is the practice of ingesting small, sub-perceptual quantities of a psychedelic 2-5 times a week. This is typically done with an intent to increase creativity, boost emotional awareness, facilitate new connections in the brain, deepen one’s spirituality, and/or generally enhance one’s experience.
A typical microdose of psilocybin mushrooms is about 100mg. Folks tend to gauge up or down from there depending on their own disposition and goals. Exploring the dose range can be helpful for getting a better sense of one’s desired dosage and of the action of the mushrooms.
Some people find that microdosing improves mood, emotional well-being and cognition, while also alleviating feelings of anxiety and depression. Psilocybin can help a person to be more emotionally open, and–especially at higher doses–sometimes assists with getting to the root of trauma and conflict rather than simply masking the symptoms.
